Insurance producer errors and omissions can be exceedingly expensive and harmful to the producer’s professional image. This training is intended to assist insurance agents and brokers in preventing various forms of mistakes and omissions in commercial liability insurance. The verb prevent is employed here in the context of risk management. The goal of loss prevention is to limit the frequency or possibility of claims. It is impossible to prevent completely. An agent or broker who has followed every rule in this course and handled everything correctly may nevertheless be sued for some purported error or omission. The producer who successfully completes this course, on the other hand, is less likely to be charged with an error or omission and is likely to be better prepared to defend himself or herself against these charges.
Objectives of Learning
After completing this course and Part 2, the student should be able to spot and avoid many of the issues that arise while selling and servicing.
Commercial general liability insurance, commercial car insurance, workers compensation and employers liability insurance, and business excess and umbrella plans are all examples of commercial insurance.
